Witt hit by a car – will play tonight

AUTHOR: Gary Harding | IN: Islanders | COMMENTS: 2 Comments |

According to Katie Strang of Newsday, Islanders defenseman Brendan Witt was hit by a car making an illegal left turn in downtown Philadelphia, while going to get a latte at Starbucks.

Witt was thrown to the ground by the Yukon, yelled a few obscenities, brushed himself off, declared himself a hockey player, and OK, then proceeded to get his coffee.

Now – if we can only get that Plus Minus down – he really could be a super hero…..

Witt will be in the lineup, as the Isles face the Flyers tonight in Philadelphia.

WTG to Chris King, who will get to call the Play-by-play tonight – as the game this evening is being done by Versus, and no Howie/Billy.  Chris is a great guy, that deserves to get his chances.

  1. I’m glad the Witter is all right, and I don’t find it “amusing” at all to hear about anyone being hit by a car. However, there is this part of me that wishes I had been there. For the driver’s sake, I hope he didn’t get out of the truck ….
I bet Witt didn’t spread any holiday cheer his way either …
