Thoughts on Monday

I just have one word to say about yesterday.

Sad.

Sad to see the vote for progress voted down.

I am not going to get into the politics, and the reprucussions.  There are many folks that are on the opposite side of what I feel, and to be honest, they are as passionate on their side, as I am on I, and I enjoy my friendships more than I do fighting about this.  So – as the sensitive guy I am – I am not going to argue.

All I want to do is look forward.  There still is a hockey team to be playing soon.  This is a young and I think, exciting team that I really and truly believe will do something special this season.  And this is not Kool-Aid talking.  Folks that are still seething over this vote loss – put your focus now to the team.  Let the powers that be, and others that want to see this team stay, work on something different.  Charles Wang said that he doesn’t want a plan B, but after the dust settles, there may be a chance.  Let’s leave it at that.

The guys that wear that crest that shows my home, need to get the support.  Get on the bandwagon.  I think that Garth is building a special team.  Look at how the Chicago Blackhawks went from losers to winners.  The Islander mold is looking similar in structure.  If the team stays healthy, and gets sparks, there is no telling what will happen.

Stay true – Islander fans; good things are still coming.  We just have to believe.
