The Caps come to the Island - will the streak end?

Washington comes to the Island with a 5-1 thrashing of the Carolina Hurricanes last night.

Star Alex Ovehckin is having issues with his coach, and is not getting the number of points that the Great 8 is used to.

Then we come to the Islanders, who are a six game winless streak (0-4-2),and will be in the process of shuffling the lines.  TO this author – it is about time that the changes are going to be made.  Coach Capuano has stayed with them as long as he possibly could.

Josh Bailey, Blake Comeau and Brian Rolston combined has zero goals and two assists.  Although their line has had some great opportunities and has shown flashes of strong chemistry, results are the paramount, and since the Isles are 30th in the league in goal scoring, this needs to change.

Who will be in net?  According to Arthur Staple in Newsday, Rick DiPietro will get his third straight start.  DP, although giving up the first goal on the first shot of each of the past two contests, has played well, and kept the Islanders in games.  The lines are also going to have a major change in their look, with Michael Grabner going to the top line with John Tavares and Matt Moulson.  Kyle Okposo is moving down to the thrid line with Blake Comeau and Marty Reasoner.  Josh Bailey has been dropped to the fourth line with Matt Martin and Jay Pandolfo.  This could be a blessing – as the fourth line has been the best line over the past few games.

It should be an interesting game tonight.  Hopefully a good crowd will be there, and the home team will come out on top.  I will be covering the game tonight – and will be seind updates throughout the night.  Keep checking here, or on twitter @islessection317.
