Lights……camera……action!

The Devils and Islanders play in the 2013-14 NHL preseason for the 2nd time in 3 days as they officially anoint Barclays Center as a hockey facility tonight with faceoff scheduled for 7pm EST.

Almost 10,000 fans and likely more are expected to pack the beautiful Brooklyn facility and after attending media day two weeks ago, I can assure you they will not leave disappointed.

Also keep in mind when you take in the atmosphere and look around the setup, it is still two years from 100% completion. It truly is remarkable the work they have been able to do to this date.

Thursday’s 5-3 Isles victory featured New York’s ‘B’ team against New Jersey’s ‘A’ team so expect a reversal tonight.

Goaltenders have already been announced and both are expected to play most, if not all, of the 60 minutes (and potentially more). New Jersey head coach Peter DeBoer still does not have Jaromir Jagr at his disposal but might get Patrick Elias back in the lineup this evening. Ryane Clowe, who left with a lower body injury last game, is not expected to play. Cory Schneider will be the starting netminder.

For the Isles, Newsday beat reporter Arthur Staple has your starting lineups below…..

Moulson-Tavares-Bouchard

Bailey-Nielsen-Okposo

Martin-Cizikas-McDonald

Boulton-Sundstrom-Johnson.

Strait-Hamonic

MacDonald-Donovan

Reinhart-Visnovsky

Nabokov

Rich Diaz (@RDNHL) is covering the game for Eyes live from Barclays, with Chris Triantafilis and Mike Willhoft in attendance. I will be home, streaming and tweeting (@tazman19).

Remember, enjoy this historic event responsibly, respect your fellow fan and do not drink and drive. Take public transportation if possible.
