Sound Off : Let Your Fingers Be Heard

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

It is your time to sound off…..let your fingers do the talking.

As loyal readers to Eyes On Isles, we truly appreciate all the support you have shown us over the last six months. And we decided to try something a little different and fun.

If the response turns out positively, this could evolve into a monthly series where we recap the major issues surrounding not only the New York Islanders but the entire National Hockey League and allow you, the fan, to vote in our polls and sound off in the comments section.

The last week has been hectic to say the least all around the league as teams attempt to get prepared for their season openers. Players have been battling, and some still are, for jobs on their respective big clubs while showing short tempers.

For the Isles, it has been pretty much business as usual except for some drama surrounding today’s announcement of the groupings. General manager Garth Snow decided to send a group ‘B’ to Iceworks in Syosset to continue camp with Bridgeport head coach Scott Pellerin. The ‘A’ group remained at Nassau Coliseum under the watchful eye of Jack Capuano and Doug Weight.

Notable players sent to Iceworks were goaltender Anders Nilsson, forward Anders Lee and defensemen Radek Martinek and Jeff Finley.

Still with the big boys are Ryan Strome, Brock Nelson, Johan Sundstrom, Matt Donovan and Griffin Reinhart.

So let’s get to the polling and see what you think about everything going on around the league. Don’t forget to sound off in the comments section as you see fit…..
