The Islanders are in the final day of their three day break after losing their fourth in a row on Saturday in Philadelphia.

The already injury depleted team had quite the scare on Monday afternoon when it was announced Andrew MacDonald went down in practice. MacDonald had taken a block shot which dropped him immediately. However, the official Islanders Twitter account announced MacDonald was skating in morning practice. Furthermore, Thomas Hickey, who left Saturday’s game, was also announced as skating and practicing with the team.

The Isles look to snap their four game losing streak with a home-stand through Thanksgiving. As the team has shown this season, their “battle level” against tougher opponents is usually very high, and with teams like Detroit, Washington, and Pittsburgh coming to the Coliseum over the next week, they could make a real statement by taking these games and making the most out of the notoriously bad month of November.
