Welcome to New York Islanders GIFS of the Week, a weekly post dedicated to highlighting some of the best goals, saves, hits, and celebrations.
It’s been a tough few weeks for Islanders fans. Everyone is well aware of the issues at hand and fans would say there haven’t been many high points lately. However, that doesn’t mean the Islanders haven’t had their share of noteworthy plays. Below are a few notable plays from the past week of New York Islanders hockey:
Cal Clutterbuck and Casey Cizikas are the clear front runners for best celebrations by anyone on the Islanders roster. Clutterbuck continues this trend after capitalizing on a breakaway. Simply put, just a fantastic celebration.
Anders Nilsson doesn’t have the wins to show for his performance in net so far, but he’s made some huge saves in the few games he’s played thus far. An absolute show stopper of a save, highlighting a strong glove while robbing a great chance from Kris Letang.Andrew MacDonald‘s howitzer:
Andrew MacDonald with a beautiful rip that somehow finds its way to the back of the net. St. Louis Blues announcers classified the goal as an absolute “howitzer.” Their words, not mine, but I think we can all agree on that one.
