Teams like the Islanders are in the role of playing spoiler and seeing youthful, exciting new talent being given an opportunity to perform on the largest stage of their careers.

That was at the forefront of New York’s 4-1 victory Saturday night over the Buffalo Sabres with Ryan Strome, Anders Lee, Brock Nelson, Calvin de Haan and Anders Nilsson all putting in great performances in front of over 14,000 at the Nassau Coliseum.

This week, the Islanders have two games, once again sandwiched around a four day break but the national spotlight shines the brightest, highlighted by Blues Vs Blackhawks on Wednesday night.
