Take a piece of the Rock tonight!

By Gary Harding

Home cooking is not been the option for the Devils this season.  2-4 to be exact.  Good thing the Isles are the road team tonight.  On the flip, the Devs are 7-0 as the visiting team.  Quite interesting, to say the least.

The Isles at 5-5-5 are looking to get back over the 500 mark.  With this game tonight, and a home match against Atlanta, the Isles then head for a big road trip that will keep them away from Nassau until the day before Thanksgiving.  A litmus test, to say the least.

What do the Isles need to do.  Pepper Brodeur.  He is still Martin Brodeur, but he is NOT the same Marty we have come to know (respect) but hate, as he makes our team look feeble.  Have to create traffic in front of him, get him flustered.  He can get that way more than he used to, but he can still make the save better than most.

Player to watch:  Josh Bailey.  His game has elevated of late, and has been winning the approval of Billy Jaffe, among others.  Now – he needs to ‘step up’ and make the next level of his maturation.  His passion is there, now it needs to lead into performance.

Would assume Rollie will be in net tonight, and Marty B tomorrow.  Wish I was there tonight – but there is always tomorrow.

Coming soon – a new writer will be joining the fray.  Stay tuned.

Have a hockey day, folks!
