H1N1 – hits the Isles again

By Gary Harding

Now Okie is in a sequestered state.  Maybe he can watch the movie 12 Angry Men!

It should be a week off the ice for Okposo, as he recuperates from his Swine Flu.  Ah hee, who are we kidding, he did not want to go on this part of the road trip anyway.  He is waiting for the chance to go home next weekend to Minnesota.

Now Dougie is out 4-6 weeks from that crazy play on Friday at the Rock.  It is tough on the captain, but it gave Blake Comeau a chance the other night, and he seized the opportunity.

Now – the Isles need to work on the simple things on the road trip.  With the first of them, being victories in the face-off circle.  They were blah in the game against Buffalo, and were not that good in Jersey either.  Simple face off wins, lead to better things as the play goes.

Just shoot the puck.  Get pucks to the net – and see what else happens.  That should be the philosophy that is instilled on the entire team.  With the exception of Washington – two of the next games SHOULD (and I hope I did not jinx this) be easy games.  They just have come out and “PLAY YOUR GAME”, as Herb Brooks so aptly put it.

Congrats to Matt Moulson who got engaged the other day.  Will JT be the best man, or an usher?  Tune in to find out.

Looks like Rob Schremp gets a chance, with Blake Comeau showing some sickness symptoms.  I hope this is not an epidemic.  If this was the Calgary Flames, that would be no problem, because they got to the front of the shot line!

Have a HOCKEY DAY, folks!
