Despite giving up a 5-2 lead and having to go to the shoot out, the Isles managed to squeak 2 points and beat the Thrashers 6-5. The Islanders opened up 3-0, 4-1 and 5-2 leads at various points in the game and simply seemed to fall apart as the third period progressed.

Congratulations to Matt Moulson and Richard Park, who scored goals after some long dry spells each. Also, Josh Bailey had a goal and an assist and seems to be gaining confidence with each game. Trent Hunter and John Sim also contributed goals in the game, while Tambellini and Nielsen had goals in the shoot out with Roloson stopping the final shot to get the win. Maxim Afinogenov had 2 goals and 2 assists for the visitors and that top line with his line mates, Ilya Kovalchuk and Nik Antropov were responsible for 4 of the Thrashers’ 5 goals.
