Welcome Back “Bailes”

I know – the video is 35 years old, and it is not about a shaggy-haried comedian – but I am glad that Bailey is back for the Islanders.  He had 11 games to get his act together, and did just that.  17 points in those 11 games, got his confidence up and moving in the right direction.

With the bonus of extra time off with the Sound Tigers having a week between games, Bailey got a little home cooking, and now is ready to go, and actually rearing to do.

“I want to see the game Josh played in Bridgeport carry over,” Jack Capuano said to the media today. “He played with a ton of confidence there. He has to make sure he’s skating, that he’s in constant motion, and when he has the opportunity to be creative and makes plays, he makes them.”

Bailey has always shown that he has such a good head on his shoulders, and has the right attitude for the game in front of him.  He should be on the first or second line tonight as the Isles host the Bolts at the Coliseum tonight.

“I’m excited to be here… Every day I had that jump in my step”, said Bailey to the media after practice this morning. “When I got to the rink, it was exciting. I had that winning feeling, that feeling that I knew I was going to be successful.”

At game 160 tonight, Bailey will need to go through waivers before being sent down to the Port.  Now – this lesson for the 20 year old, is over, and he now has to take his game to that level that he showed in the AHL.

The team may have changed a little since you left, but believe me Josh – you are “WELCOMED BACK!”
