Pens visit Uniondale, as life without the “Wiz” begins

By Gary Harding

The last game for the Pens before the outside game on 1/1/11, has them invading the Coliseum against an Islander team without James Wisniewski, who as you all know, is now a Hab.

Minus all of the people screaming that the Isles are trying to drag salary even lower, this was not a dump.  This is a testament to the GM feeling that the team is happy and confident with their young emerging talent.  Travis Hamonic and Andrew MacDonald are playing well enough that the potential UFA Wisniewski was expendable.

Now – I have not seen it around the locker room, so do not take this as fact, but could he have been a problem?  If not – then tell me why he has been dealt three times in less than two years?  I am just saying…..

Well – AMac and Travis have earned their stripes for this team, which made “Wiz” expendable.  With the departure, there are now seven spots, so it will be Bruno vs. Jack to see who gets in the press box for the night.

Hopefully – I will make it to the game – if so – see you there.
