What a game 7. Tim Thomas was superb. The Canucks just ran out of gas.
It is what every player dreams of; the chance to win the Cup in Game 7 of the finals. They also dream of getting the goal that makes it happen. Patrice Bergeron gets that dream realized.
Doesn’t Gary Bettman look dwarf-like standing next to Zdeno Chara?
Injuries and ineffective goaltending is what did in Vancouver. Losing Dan Hamhuis early in is a big factor. It made other defensement step up, and in some cases, they did. However, the hidden injury bug took its toll. Alex Edler could barely hold his stick. I would safely bet that at least 5 other Canucks had serious injuries of some sort.
Boston just took it to Vancouver. They were the better team. And don’t even start about the goaltending….
Tim Thomas was just spectacular. But it was funny — during the Montreal series, Boston radio callers were questioning Thomas, and wondering if Tukka Rask should get some playing time. I guess they changed their tune real fast.
As I write this – I hear that angry Vancouver fans trashed their beautiful city after the game was over. That is a shame. The few times that I have visited Vancouver, I found the Canuck fans nothing but nice and a pleasure to be around. Remember folks, this is a game – not life.
Well – after being so tied up in work issues, I hope to get back to writing real soon, doing our player reviews, as well as get ready for th NHL Awards and the draft next week.
Have a great day folks!
