Yes – I think Matt Moulson needs a 10 gallon Hat, and some spurs.  Maybe he will become a resident of Texas after his playing days are over.

#26 for the Islanders is this week’s recipient of the NHL Player of the Week award.

Here is the copy of the e-mail I received today from the Islanders:

"UNIONDALE, NY (December 5, 2011) – The National Hockey League announced today that Islanders forward Matt Moulson has been named the First Star of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Dec. 4. Moulson, 28, scored six goals and added one assist in three games last week to help the Islanders to a 2-0-1 record. The North York, ON, native finished the week with the league’s first four-goal game of the season Saturday in Dallas, extending his goal-scoring streak to four games. Moulson leads all Islanders with 13 goals and ranks third on the team with 19 points. His plus-2 rating and three game-winning goals are also team highs. Last season, Moulson posted his second-straight 30-goal season with the Islanders, finishing with 31 goals and 22 assists. The Islanders acquired Moulson as a free agent in 2009 and agreed to terms on a three-year deal in January, 2011. The Los Angeles Kings selected Moulson in the ninth round (263rd overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft."

Congrats to Matt – and keep it up! And do NOT shave that moustache off!
