Middletown, N. J – Eyes On Isles will be with you all day long as we cover the 2013 NHL Entry Draft from the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. We will report on all news, selections and rumors that we hear from verified credible sources to keep you in the know.
How active will the Islanders be? There really is no definitive answer to that question. We do know that general manager Garth Snow has been working the phones in an attempt to improve the squad and figure out the situation in the crease that has presented itself with the news that Evgeni Nabokov and the team could not come to contract terms on an extension for the unrestricted free agent.
With free agency opening Friday, July 5 this is certainly an exciting week in the world of hockey but also one where fans must temper their expectations and not get too high or low from the ever changing news cycle.
- Kris Letang‘s camp and the Penguins continue to talk contract this morning. Word is talks are progressing but nowhere near a possible deal at this point.
- Per Darren Dreger, Vincent LeCavalier’s head is spinning from the pitches yesterday he received.
- Bruins asking for huge return in any offer for Tyler Seguin (top 10 draft pick + All star caliber player)
- Draft choices will be limited to 3 minutes per team today as the league rushes to complete draft in single day.
- Alexander Edler in play and Rangers will probably be very interested.
