What better story than to bring the Syosset born home again to suit up for the blue and orange and continue to assist his hometown club’s climb to respectability? I certainly can’t think of one as directly pertaining to the Islanders to be honest.

But can Snow lure Scuderi away from the sun, sand and lifestyle that is Los Angeles? And not to mention they are a pretty damn good hockey team to boot, winning the Stanley Cup two seasons ago and losing in the conference finals this year to the eventual champs.

After spending his first 5 years as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Scuderi took his talents to LA and has played a superb defensive role over the last 4 seasons. You will not get ANY offense from him….none at all…..Only 7 goals and 86 career points in 585 games will attest to that.

What you will get is a durable defense first blue-liner (only missed 10 games last 5 years) who will make the sacrifice necessary to not only succeed in the regular season but knows how to win in the playoffs when the lights get their brightest. His experience and tutelage to the upcoming Isles defensive stars could be invaluable and might be reason enough why Snow should offer probably more than he should to outbid the Kings for his rights.
