Why The New York Islanders Would Benefit From Mikhail Grabovski

Cornwall, Ontario – As free agency has come and gone it seems that Garth Snow and company has laid low. Whether he wakes up and makes something happen is yet to be seen but I am going to plead my case for a player that would benefit the blue and orange.

Mikhail Grabovski has just recently been bought out by the Toronto Maple Leafs after 5 seasons. He has also been vocal about coach Randy Carlyle and how he was treated. Grabo’s case being that if you want him to score points, don’t stick him on the third and fourth lines with players who have little to no offensive talent. Seems pretty simple.

With that being an issue, Grabovski could easily bump himself up onto the second line between Matt Moulson and Kyle Okposo. Grabovski is a proven 50 points per player given the fact that he has proper players on the line with him. His speed and stick handling abilities are incredible. He could easily replace a guy like Frans Nielsen. Given the chance, Mikhail can be ridiculous with the puck and it’s too bad that he wasn’t given a fair chance in Toronto. In New York, that could be a different story.

Grabovski could thrive in the blue and orange with two offensive wingers on his side. The Islanders have that, hell they have a few. If Garth Snow was smart, he’d throw the whole bank at Grabo and try to lock him in. Despite all the negative Toronto press he’s gotten, their is nothing wrong with Mikhail Grabovski.

Mark my words; the next team he’s on, he’s going to shine. Let’s just pray it’s the Islanders.
