Top Shelf – Islanders Daily 11/27/13

In honor of the pre-Thanksgiving half-day that most of us are currently working, let’s keep this brief.
The New York Islanders will officially their Stadium Series jersey today at 10:00 a.m., but Newsday offered Isles fans a sneak peak last night at midnight.
The Islanders will wear them for their Jan. 29 game against the New York Rangers at Yankee Stadium. The jersey stays true to the original blue and orange color scheme of the main jersey, but have a more futuristic look to them: the so-called “chrome treated” NY logo is prominently featured.
The silhouette of Long Island is conspicuously absent from the Stadium Series jersey, but at least their color scheme doesn’t say “New York Mets jerseys gone wrong.”
So there’s that.

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers (4-9-1-3) haven’t played a game since Sunday Nov. 24 and won’t play again until Friday Nov. 29. Ryan Strome and Calvin de Haan are still on the roster. That’s pretty much it.
