New York Islanders : Who Was The Best Of All Time?

The age-old question when it comes to any franchise is ‘who was the best player ever in their history’?  In the case of the New York  Islanders, that is not any different.

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

It is a very common, very debatable concept to be discussed among the fan-base and one that always brings out a bevy of interesting comments and selections.

Instead of sitting here and writing a column on who I think that player should be for the once proud four consecutive Stanley Cup winning franchise, would it not be much more fun to let the fans and readers themselves decide?

Starting out with 20 players and allowing for week-long voting, that is exactly what we are going to do here at Eyes On Isles.

The players were picked party by myself along with comments taken off the site’s Facebook page when I first suggested the competition. It is your chance to partake in the fun and let your voice be heard.

So don’t miss out and share this as much as you can to make sure voting is enough to declare someone a clear winner for each round.

To begin, the 20 names were put into an internet name randomizer, which produced the seeds. It will follow normal tournament rules, with the highest seed playing the lowest seed and so forth until the finals.

So, without further adieu, let’s begin with round one of the greatest Islander of all time.
