The Islanders take off for a Western Canada road trip today and all indications are Thomas Vanek and Andrew MacDonald will not be with them when they return for a game next Friday at the Nassau Coliseum against the San Jose Sharks.

In fact, those who bought tickets for the following days game to welcome back ex-Islander Matt Moulson could be heavily disappointed as well. Moulson is not expected to last past Wednesday as a member of the Sabres organization.

Washington and Philadelphia is always an interesting match-up, as yesterday proved once again. The rematch is on national TV Wednesday and highlights the week.
