The night after the season opener in Carolina, the Islanders will take on the Hurricanes in the back half of a home and home. The barn will be packed with this being the final home opener ever at the Coliseum. You would have to figure the Islanders will do something special, whether it’s a giveaway, ceremony, or something else, to honor the history of the Coliseum. This will also be the first opportunity for the Coliseum faithful to welcome new offseason acquistions such as Jaroslav Halak and Mikhail Grabovski. I think it’s safe to say you don’t want to miss this one.
