This season marks the final campaign for the New York Islanders at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.  The move to Brooklyn has been met with mixed reviews from fans, but one thing that is for sure is the Islanders needed a new building desperately.  Since its opening in 1972 it has been the only building the New York Islanders have called home, and has been the site of some of the most memorable moments in NHL history.  The Islanders clinched 3 of their 4 straight Stanley Cups at the Coliseum (2 more than the building the other New York hockey team calls home), and have had countless other great playoff moments happen there. As the Islanders and their fans look forward to their new home at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, let’s take a trip down memory lane and look back at the ten greatest Islanders moments in Nassau Coliseum history.
