Question 2: When the season concludes on April 11th, where will the Islanders stand and what will their division look like?
Chris: The Islanders will be 3rd in the division behind Pittsburgh and the Jackets. I think they take a huge step forward this year.
Kenny: When the season concludes on April 11th, the Islanders will have just played a contest against the Columbus Blue Jackets with major playoff implications. The Isles will make the playoffs this season as a wild card, with Pittsburgh in first, Columbus in second and the Rangers in third. The Devils will finish fifth, Philly sixth, Washington seventh and Carolina eighth.
Kevin: I think the Islanders are in the top three behind Pittsburgh and possibly Columbus. I think the Rangers, Capitals and Flyers all miss the playoffs this year.
Michael: The Metropolitan Division is wide open. The Penguins lost a lot of strength on their blue line, the Blue Jackets are headed in the right direction and the Rangers seem to be an inconsistent team aside from Henrik Lundqvist. I’ll put the Islanders down to finish third in the division for now but wouldn’t be surprised to see them end up even higher.
