Diehard Islanders fans are all up and down Long Island, but most can’t say they gave birth in the parking lot of Nassau Coliseum.

Joy Rosen has been a New York Islanders season ticket holder for their entire existence of 42 years. Not much about her separates herself from other Long Islanders who’ve loved their Islanders hockey.

On Monday night however, during the MSG+ broadcast of the game against the New York Rangers, Rosen let us in on a little secret.

How about that.

Back in 1982, during the powerhouse years for Dennis Potvin, Mike Bossy and the rest of the Islanders, Joy Rosen had a wild time in the Nassau Coliseum parking lot.

“I went into labor during the Stanley Cup game, 1982-83 season, Rosen said. (It was) false labor. (I) was able to come back for the last game and watch the Islanders win their next Stanley Cup.”

If only the young lad’s name could have been revealed as well. It must have been tough on him to realize his parents created him in that sort of fashion. Hopefully he wasn’t watching the game at the local pub.

Rosen will now have to take her act to Brooklyn next season if she wants her wild rides to continue.
