2014-15 has been the best New York Islanders seasons in recent memory. Here’s five very important reasons why they’ll be the ones lifting the Stanley Cup.

Prior to each season in this country the so-called “experts” come out with previews and predictions that are supposed to set the tone for how the season will play out.

Offseasons are loaded with activity and personnel movement that shifts the balance of power from one team to another quite often. In the National Hockey League this is especially the case.

Prior to the 2014-15 season, most experts didn’t have the New York Islanders confidently in the playoffs. While some picked them to possibly sneak in there or contend, the year that the boys from Long Island are currently having have sure created a bunch of red faces among hockey writers.
