Ryan Pulock Round 1 Pick 15 (2013)

Ryan Pulock made his Islanders debut during the 2015-2016 season. He scored a couple of regular season goals and one big time power play goal in Game 3 of the Florida series. He didn’t have a major role last year but he showed signs of being a capable NHL d-man.

His powerful shot looks like something to keep an eye on. Pulock on the power play unit seems like an obvious fit. I don’t think we are going to have to worry too much about Capuano deciding if he should dress Pulock or Brian Strait. Pulock proved enough to be a regular in the lineup.

Griffin Reinhart Round 1 Pick 4 (2012)

As we discussed before the Islanders decided to deal Reinhart to Edmonton in order to get another first round draft pick. He only played 8 games as an Islander and had one assist during his time with the team.

With the Oilers last year he had one assist in 29 games. It seems like Garth Snow made the right decision to trade Reinhart. He’s yet to score a goal at the NHL level. He’s still just 22 years old so you can’t completely give up on him. Although I think Garth got the best of this deal.

The Islanders may end up trading their draft pick anyway. Look for Edmonton to be a possible trade partner. In case they don’t you know now how their picks have fared in the last couple of years. Make sure to check out our mock draft as well to see who we think the Islanders will draft.
