A quick look around the internet at the top Islanders news of the day. Make Eyes On Isles your New York Islanders news destination.
The NHL off season is almost nonexistent. Not even two weeks after the final game of the NHL season we found ourselves already looking to next year with the draft last night.
There was so much anticipation going into last nights draft because there were a ton of rumors surrounding the Islanders. Were they going to trade the pick, would they trade back?
Garth Snow decided to make the pick. If you looked at our mock draft the Islanders selected exactly who we thought they would. Kieffer Bellows is the newest Islander.
Arthur Staple of Newsday had a write up of Kieffer Bellows shortly after they made the pick. Yesterday Staple thought that the Islanders could possibly look to move back due to their lack of late round picks.
Instead Garth didn’t force a trade and made the pick. Bellows had 50 goals for the U.S. National Development Team this past season.
Bellows is a talented skater who uses his athleticism to his advantage. Bellows will be playing at Boston University next year.

The New York Post had an interesting article about how Kieffer Bellows had some funny family history with Islanders legend Brian Trottier.
Kieffer’s father Brian played for the Minnesota North Stars. During the Stanley Cup Final in 1991 Brian Trottier who was playing for the Penguins, famously chirped Brian.
The mics picked up the audio of the trash talk, the language is pretty explicit so if you want to look it up on your own it’s not all that hard to find.
