A look around the web at the most recent New York Islanders news. Make Eyes On Isles your go to website for all things Islanders.

So far Garth Snow is trying to change up the Islanders roster. He’s done a pretty good job so far says Jeff Capellini. Although Garth Snow still needs to add another winger in Capellini’s opinion.

Capellini cites the pickups of Andrew Ladd and Jason Chimera as well as the PA Parenteau addition as good moves. His next idea is that Garth Snow will make a trade to improve the team. I agree with Capellini here.

He says that Barzal and Bellows are untouchable prospects, the rest are up for grabs. If someone calls about  Dal Colle or even a young forward on the NHL roster ie) Anders Lee or Brock Nelson that Garth Snow has to at least consider it.

The Islanders definetely do have a lot of prospects built up over the years. They could afford to move some in order to get a big piece in here. The Islanders could also go the route of shedding salary cap if they wanted as well.

Contracts like Halak’s and Grabovski’s could be looked into moving. Capellini didn’t have a trade request, and he said it would be difficult to say who the Islanders would go after and what they were looking to give up.

I cited not too long ago that the Islanders and Lightning would make a good trade partnership. Adding additional scoring would help put this team over the top as a threat in the Eastern Conference.
