Yesterday I made the case for Mathew Barzal making the team. In the article I actually talked about how Barzal has leapfrogged Michael Dal Colle in the prospect rankings. Dal Colle thinks that this offseason is his most important to date.

Brian Compton writes how Dal Colle as overcome adversity his entire life. This was shown on the ice last year as Dal Colle struggled with the rebuilding Oshawa Generals.

He got off to a really slow start last year before he was traded to Kingston. He only had 8 goals in 30 games with Oshawa, in Kingston he had 27 goals with Kingston in the same amount of games. The move clearly did him good.

He’s going to need to have a very good training camp if he wants to make the NHL roster. He’s close, but I don’t see him making the roster. As I said yesterday I see Barzal making the team over him, if any of the prospects do end up making the team.
