The last few days have been really John Ledecky news happy, so in order to take a break from it there’s an interesting article braking down the Florida Panthers and New York Islanders playoff series to take a look at.

The Energy Line went very in depth looking at this series. To sum it all up, the Panthers out shot the Islanders but Thomas Greiss had the series of his life while the Islanders also got bounces to go their way.

It was a very evenly matched series looking back on it. Three of the six games had to go to overtime to decide the winner. Luckily for the Islanders they were 3-0 in OT games in that series, they didn’t do so hot in the next round.

Did the Islanders get lucky in that series? Partially, that’s what happens, some days the puck just bounces your way and everything seemed to go right for the Islanders. Advanced stats aside, just by the eye test it seemed like an even matched series.

The difference maker truly was Greiss, especially in Games 5 and 6. Roberto Luongo didn’t play poorly, it was just Greiss playing out of his mind.
