New York Islanders Calvin de Haan Having Fun On Twitter

New York Islanders defenseman Calvin de Haan got into it with a fan on Twitter today. It was pretty funny

On what should’ve been a quiet Thursday afternoon for the New York Islanders we get a very funny twitter exchange between Calvin de Haan and a fan. Arthur Staple opened it up for questions on twitter (always a mistake) and this was the result.

This Islanders fan didn’t seem too happy with de Haan for his skating so he decided to ask Staple his opinion on it. Somehow it gets to de Haan and he comes in from the top rope back at this guy.

It seemed to be all in good fun and not an attack, I think the Islanders fan knew what he was getting into.

When it’s almost August there is nothing going on in hockey land. This gives us something to talk about at least. Twitter is one of my favorite websites because it provides an avenue for fans to interact with players.

In cases like this we see the benefits of social media. It’s funny to see a player and fan go back and forth, sports are entertainment after all right!

As much fun as it is to go in depth and break down possession stats, or wonder about what the lines are going to be on opening night sometimes it’s just as satisfying to sit back and watch what’s going on in the twitter world.

Although this isn’t the most pressing issue, or realistically all that important you can’t help but to have a good laugh on the internet once in a while.
