A look around the web at the most recent New York Islanders news. Make Eyes On Isles your go to website for all things Islanders.

Jason Chimera has yet to play a game with the New York Islanders but there is already talk of him going to Las Vegas in the expansion draft. Chimera’s a 37 year old veteran who can still score, as he put up 40 points last year.

Tal Pinchevsky writes which guys he expects to head to the Las Vegas ______’s next summer in the expansion draft.

He thinks the Islanders would protect 7 forwards and 3 defenseman. I’m not sure how true that would be because they have to protect Johnny Boychuk, Nick Leddy, Travis Hamonic and Ryan Pulock unless somebody is moved.

I thought the Islanders would go the route of protecting 8 skaters, so they can keep the four defenseman. I would sign up for Chimera being the guy that Vegas selects. Here I am scared we might have to see a young forward or top defenseman go, but Pinchevsky thinks they’ll go with Chimera.

I think any Islanders fan would take that in a heartbeat just due to his age and he’s easy to replace.
