New York Islanders Ranking The Alternate Jerseys

Number 5: The Black/Gray/Orange Jerseys
The Islanders wore these jerseys from 2011-2014. What makes them better than the black and white jerseys is at least they have the Islanders blue and orange mixed in as well. Even so there is too much going on with these.
I’m not completely against having black in the uniforms. If done right it can look nice, but with the gray and orange it just doesn’t work for me.
These jerseys bring me back to the Matt Moulson and early John Tavares days. The product on the ice wasn’t that great and the Islanders weren’t great looking when they broke these bad boys out either.
You still occasionally see these around the Barclays Center but this isn’t a particularly popular one in my opinion, for good reason. If only we knew that these were the start of going all black. They must’ve realized that that there was too much going on in these jerseys and just decided to go with the black and whites.
