Number 1: The Orange and Blue’s

The orange and blue what a classic look. I must admit, I’m a bit biased on this one. I got into the sport around this time so everything about the Islanders I loved, even these jerseys. It’s more for nostalgia reasons that I like these.

Every time I see a Michael Peca orange jersey I have to tip my cap to that person. These alternates lasted from 2002 until 2007, which is a pretty long time for a third jersey.

I like the flip of the color scheme, the orange as the primary color and the navy blue on the side. The team was trying to build off their popularity from making the playoffs. Alternates were at their heyday during this time and the islanders had a good one. It sold well.
