The calendar has flipped to the 8th month of the year as the waiting game continues. While you’re patiently waiting for New York Islanders hockey to return, lets take a look at the roster and see if the Islanders will make any changes.

Christopher Lizza writes how the Islanders are constructed they can still make moves before the season starts. The Islanders have to re-sign restricted free agent Ryan Strome as well, which should happen before any other moves are made.

Mikhail Grabovski‘s big contract is one that might be looked into to move. He’s a $5 million cap hit who is often injured and doesn’t give you all that much offensively.

If you ask me the Islanders are still a trade away from being a legit threat in the Metropolitan division. The Islanders forward depth and goalie depth is something that they could potentially use as trade bait.
