A look around the web at the most recent New York Islanders news. Make Eyes On Isles your go to website for all things Islanders.

It’s going to be difficult to replace someone like Matt Martin on and off the ice. The New York Islanders attempted to do so by bringing in veteran Jason Chimera. Patrick Hickey Jr talks expectations.

If you wanted a reference point we included Chimera in our weekly expectations blog:

RELATED: Expectations For Jason Chimera

Hickey talks about how his numbers are deceiving in a sense. He spent time with a very talented offensive group. No offense to Cal Clutterbuck and Casey Cizikas but they are no Tom Wilson and Jay Beagle.

His prediction was 12-15 goals and about the same for assists. In my expectations, I predicted 15 goals and 15 assists for Chimera on the year. I’m not calling him out, it’s more of a great minds think a like scenario.

It’s because 40 points is too much to expect from Chimera. He will be better offensively than Martin and I think 30 points isn’t too unreasonable.
