A look around the web at the most recent New York Islanders news. Make Eyes On Isles your go to website for all things Islanders.

The New York Islanders hired a new Director of Player Personnel Chris Lamoriello. He served as Senior Vice President of Hockey Operations for the New Jersey Devils and the General Manager of the Albany Devils from 2001-2015.

Brian Erni talks more about the story. He says if there’s a hockey family you want to hire from, the Lamoriellos are certainly an excellent choice.

Although his family name speaks for itself, he is certainly qualified for the job. He’s been with one of the more successful NHL franchises over the last 15 years.

His role will be helping out Garth Snow in the draft. He’s proven to be ready for this task due to the success in Jersey. Ultimately I trust Chris, I think other Islanders fans will as well. This is a good hire by the Isles.
