A look around the web at the most recent New York Islanders news. Make Eyes On Isles your go to website for all things Islanders.

The New York Islanders are coming off back to back 100 point seasons. Could they be considered as a sleeper in the Metropolitan Division? ESPN’s Craig Custance certainly thinks so. If you don’t have ESPN Insider you can read more about it from Brain Erni.

Erni references that it wasn’t until the halfway point of the season when the Penguins turned it on. They only finished four points ahead of the Islanders at the end of the day.

The front runners seem to be Washington and Pittsburgh again this year, but you shouldn’t count out the Islanders. Fans will argue back and forth all day long whether they actually improved on the ice or not this offseason.

We might not be able to tell until they hit the ice in October, but there seems to be a plan in place. The Islanders are a team built around youth with a few veteran pieces playing important roles. The Isles will certainly be more experienced if anything come playoff time.
