Hockey season is so close! Some players hit the ice today for an informal skate. It gave us our first taste of 2016-2017 New York Islanders hockey!

Some Drills

Just getting some skating work in to get their feet back under them. The list of players included Johnny Boychuk, Casey Cizikas, Thomas Greiss, and even new comer Jason Chimera.

Jason Chimera Getting Work In

Not bad for an old man! The new addition looks pretty quick on the ice despite his age. He should bring a new element of speed to that fourth line. As much as we loved Matt Martin I think Chimera is an upgrade and it’s exciting to see him out there on the ice.

Thomas Greiss Signs Some Autographs

Greisser even had some time to sign autographs for fans who were lucky enough to see the Isles in action today.

Recap

Overall it’s just good to see the team out on the ice. By this point in the summer we are all craving hockey and we got a small taste of it today. If you’re looking for more follow the Islanders on snapchat they have more videos on there that you can watch.
