New York Islanders Daily: Johnny Boychuk’s Playoff Struggles
A look around the web at the most recent New York Islanders news. Make Eyes On Isles your go to website for all things Islanders.
It’s no secret that Johnny Boychuk struggled during the Islanders playoff run last year. He even admitted it himself while talking with Newsday’s Arthur Staple.
“Regular season was good, playoffs was a little disappointed in myself,” Boychuk said. “We did win a playoff series but for myself, I should have been better.”
At least he knows it right? He’s a veteran he knows the drill. I’m not as worried as everyone else seems to be about Boychuk regressing, I just think it was a slump. I’m not ready to call Johnny Rocket over the hill just yet.
Maybe he won’t be that offensive force that he once was, but he is still extremely valuable defensively. Plus you have Ryan Pulock and his rocket shot as the offensive defenseman.
