A look around the web at the most recent New York Islanders news. Make Eyes On Isles your go to website for all things Islanders.

Jack Capuano is about to begin his seventh season behind the bench for the New York Islanders and his third year in a row in which he’s “on the hot seat.” This position is nothing new to Capuano.

Cappy has heard this all before. Some of the criticism is warranted, I believe. At times it feels like an easy scapegoat to blame Capuano when things aren’t going particularly well.

I’m not the biggest Capuano fan, I’ll come out and say it, but it’s hard to ignore back to back 100 point seasons and making the playoffs three of the last four years. The year he missed was when John Tavares went down with an injury.

At this moment I don’t believe the rhetoric. If the team misses the playoffs or has a first round exit that could change things. Garth Snow seems comfortable with Cappy leading the way and until something changes I don’t see Capuano on the hot seat.
