Labour day is here, and to commemorate the national holiday, Eyes on Isles put a list of the ten longest serving New York Islanders players in franchise history. Happy Holiday and happy reading!

Labour day is here and that means football season is getting ready to start, hockey is usually only just over a month away, and more importantly, summer is over. Nowhere do we celebrate the labor movement that the day is meant to actually celebrate.

For the New York Islanders, this means celebrating some of our most distinguished laborers. The guys that are out there on the ice putting their blood, sweat, and tears into those hard earned W’s and even more elusive Stanley Cups.

Our players are our laborers, and on this labor day, Eyes on Isles wants them to get their due. We compiled a list of ten of our most battle worn players. Those who wore the New York Islanders crest the most.

Our criteria for inclusion was simple, who has the most regular season appearances amongst all the player that have ever worn the jersey. Playoff games didn’t count in this list. This wasn’t going to be the best players to ever put on the jersey, just those that had the honor of wearing it the most.

Most of the name on the list won’t surprise you. But just the sheer volume of games might. Some players have logged over 1,000 regular season games in the Islanders Orange and Blue.
