Brent Sutter

Appearances: 694, 8th
Draft: 17th, 1980 (NY Islanders) Status: Retired
Points: 610 (287G, 323A)

Brent Sutter was drafted by the New York Islanders right at the start of the golden years for the franchise. Fresh off their first Stanley Cup in franchise history the Islanders selected him 17th overall in the summer of 1980.

Sutter was the 5th of six Sutter brothers that would make careers in the NHL. And he would go on to have the most successful playing career.

Playing with the Islanders for 12 seasons, Sutter amassed 610 points, 102 of those points coming in a single season back in 1984-85. He also picked up three dandy Stanley Cup rings as the Isles completed the dynasty during his stay.

The Isles would cash in on Sutter in the twilight of his career, sending him to Chicago with Brad Lauer for Adam Creighton and Steve Thomas.

Which ended his count for the Isles, but Sutter would go on to play another seven season with the Blackhawks
