New York Islanders Daily: Travis Hamonic Is Happy He Stayed
A look around the web at the most recent New York Islanders news. Make Eyes On Isles your go to website for all things Islanders.
Around this time last year, although we didn’t know it at the time, Travis Hamonic asked GM Garth Snow for a trade. It was due to a family situation that Hamonic hasn’t made public. When the news became public fans took it hard.
Hamonic was drafted by the Isles and has always been an Islander. He is even on one of the most team friendly deals in the league, with an AAV $3.875 million. Arthur Staple writes how Travis is happy he is still on the Islanders.
Luckily his situation has been worked out and he has rescinded his trade request. Hamonic is a valuable piece to this team and Snow most likely wouldn’t get something of equal value for him.
Hamonic said “Things solidified themselves in that situation and I’m excited to head into camp with a clear head, clear heart and ready to rock. Just keep moving forward. I’m happy as hell to be here.”
It’s go time.
