New York Islanders Daily: Don’t Read Into These Line Cobinations

A look around the web at the most recent New York Islanders news. Make Eyes On Isles your go to website for all things Islanders.
It was the first day of training camp, and the line combinations looked a little different. Here’s what they looked like.
Andrew Ladd — Mathew Barzal — PA Parenteau
Michael Dal Colle — Casey Cizikas — Alan Quine
Shane Prince — Anthony Beauvillier — Cal Clutterbuck
Ross Johnston — Stephen Gionta — Ben Holmstrom
Thomas Hickey — Johnny Boychuk
Devon Toews — Kyle Burroughs
It’s the first day of training camp so everyone is getting very googly eyed over the lines. With John Tavares at the Word Cup of Hockey Mathew Barzal slides into his spot centering the projected top line.’This should only help Barzal as he tries to make the team.
The other surprising note is separating Cal Clutterbuck and Casey Cizikas. In the end they will be on the same line, I believe they are trying to see if they can build chemistry with someone as a potential replacement for Matt Martin on the best fourth line in hockey.
Ultimately Jason Chimera seems like the likely candidate for the fourth line LW. It’s only day one, it’s tough to look into these lines and determine whether or not there will be changes.
At least hockey is back, even if it does yield ridiculous hot takes after one day of training camp.
