The New York Islanders were able to knockoff the New Jersey Devils with the help of some former Devils. Here’s how the Isles were able to come away with the 4-3 victory.
Stephen Gionta had a goal and Steve Bernier had two assists, both spent time in New Jersey and now both are on PTO’s with the Isles. While the Devils rolled with a cast of no-names New York played four of their six top defenseman and some big name forwards.
Andrew Ladd scored his first goal in orange and blue and Mathew Barzal would score what would be the game winning goal in the third period.

And if Barzal makes the team, jamming in a puck from the doorstep will help his cause. Skill guy scoring greasy goal makes coach happy.
