The New York Islanders dropped the first game of the season. It’s not panic time yet, but a lot of the same issues that haunted the Islanders last year showed up again. The positive would definitely have to be the Islanders fourth line.

As Arthur Staple said, thee fourth line has been the most consistent line over the past two years. They showed again last night why Jack Capuano trusts them in big spots.

Casey Cizikas assisted on the Nick Leddy goal and Cal Clutterbuck scored goal number two with the help of Nikolai Kulemin.

The fourth and first line both showed signs of being productive. It’s the middle six that is going to be the issue. Last year the isles struggled with secondary scoring they are going to have to avoid that issue this year to be competitive.

Anothony Beauvillier struggled at times in his first NHL game, but he seemed to settle in during the third period. Hopefully we see Mathew Barzal soon and not up in the press box.
