7. 113. . 3-3-1. Previous: 7th (+1). Columbus Blue Jackets

The Blue Jackets get the 7th spot only because the Hurricanes are so bad. It’s the lesser of two evils argument.

Both teams are now projected to be rooted to the bottom of the Metropolitan division for the remainder of the season, barring some ridiculous turn of events.

But to be fair to the Blue Jackets they’ve picked up five points since we last ranked them. Beating both Dallas and the Blackhawks and picking up a point against the Kings.

Unlike the Hurricanes the Blue Jackets goaltending is something of a revelation. Bobrovsky may not be back to Vezina form, but his 2.36 GAA and .929 SV% are keeping the Jackets in games they shouldn’t be.

And that Zach Werenski power play that looked so lethal at the start of the season has dried up faster than dessert river bed, going 2/11 recently.
