New York Islanders Daily: Allan Walsh Calls Out Goalie Situation

Allan Walsh, who is the agent for Jaroslav Halak and JF Berube, vented his frustrations with the New York Islanders goalie situation on Twitter last night.
For the second year in a row the New York Islanders are carrying three goalies on their roster. Jaroslav Halak has been the most vocal about it, and it all stems back to the Islanders not wanting to lose JF Berube as he would have to clear waivers to be sent to Bridgeport.
Allan Walsh took to twitter to vent his frustrations on the situation. His biggest issue with carrying three goalies is that the goalies aren’t getting enough practice time.
Walsh is known as one of the more outspoken agents so this came as no surprise. The real surprise was the alleged response by Garth Snow.

According to Elliote Friedman Garth Snow let the league know that Jaroslav Halak is available. If that’s the case the Islanders would be putting a lot of faith in Thomas Greiss to take over as the number one goalie.
Greiss played well down the stretch and during the playoff run, while Halak was injured. The big question mark seems to be if he can have that kind of success for a longer period of time, like a full season.
For now, it’s a wait and see game but it certainly seems like the Islanders would consider dealing Jaro.
